No Time, No Sleep! Reflux!

I don't have too much time to explain, so I'll make it quick. Sorry in advance for mistakes!

Here's what my day consists of:

Wake up sometime between 6 am and 9 am, just depending on how long she will let me sleep till.

Once she is awake, I am either feeding, changing, holding, dancing, rocking, burping, etc.

I can't forget to give her the medicine (for Reflux) or the rest of the day will be a nightmare!

Try to somehow get a shower (rarely happens).

Mitchell hasn't been in any clothes other than his PJ's for the last month. He is lucky to get a diaper change. Poor kid. He still tells me "I wuv oo! Mom!"

I beg a friend to drop off and pick up Naomi for preschool, since going anywhere she just screams, not to mention I most likely have not showered (see above).

The kids are lucky to get anything to eat for lunch, usually it's me grabbing a box of cereal out of the pantry and setting it on the floor for them to devour. (no it's not that bad usually but thought it sounded pathetic, since that's what I'm going for.)

Feeding myself is another story. If I am really hungry I'll lay her down and let her scream while I try to shove something in my face as fast as I can.

Housework, well that's funny! My house looks like a tornado went through it. Oh wait, it did and his name is Mitch. It is constantly a mess. Thankfully the kids have been mostly helpful with that and it hasn't gotten out of control too badly.

She is a great sleeper during the day, as long as I hold her. The second I put her down she wakes up screaming.

Kids come home from school, then it's instantly nagging to get rooms clean and homework done. That's usually when she starts her fussy time. Well one of them anyway. She has many.

Getting dinner going is impossible. She doesn't like the front pack. Somehow she can tell I am cheating.

Once Seth get's home one of us can usually get dinner done. But it's usually done by passing her between us when we are tired and need a break.

Then after dinner it's nagging kids to get dishes done and help out around the house. It's harder to not snap at the kids when she is screaming in your ear. Then they don't respond well to what we are asking of them.

After we read scriptures and get kids into bed, then we have time together, right? No way. It then becomes major fussy time for her. We pass her between each other so we don't go completely insane. This we do until she completely falls asleep sometime around 2 a.m.

That's pretty much my days. I don't get out or go anywhere! She is beautiful and we love her very much but I am learning a lot of patience with her.

I can't put her down after feeding her because she will reflux and scream. She wants to be held constantly! The worst positions are sitting position; the car seat and swing position are bad. She can't be laid down flat.....unless on her tummy (SIDS, no thank you). The only way she will go to sleep is up on a shoulder. But then at that it is still restless. She will (even while up on the shoulder) quit breathing to avoid the acid going into her lungs. Then gasps for breath, can't get any sleep that way. It usually takes a good hour or more to get her into a deep sleep.

Well that's pretty much all the time she will let me. She is screaming again.

Oh my gosh, RaNell! I'm so sorry. Let me bring dinner in some time this week. I'm going to call you...

By the way, I thought of you last night after we signed off and I went to bed. Jaron was up half the night screaming too. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until he got up this morning with a fever. Probably a lovely ear infection. Oh the joys of motherhood!

Oh honi! She'll settle down, I know 3 months sounds a long way away, but it will get here and she'll be through this fussy age.

Sorry!
