The planner in me has gotten tired. Our 10 year anniversary is in 3 weeks and we have no idea what we are doing. Seth is not the best at planning things (remember my birthday?). And I am at a loss on this one. I can think of a lot of things to do but most of them cost lots of money (Anniversary Inn, Tamarac Resort, Trip to Hawaii, Caribbean Cruise, just a few ideas). We are on a strict budget while working on getting out of debt (thanks to Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover). The challenge now is trying to figure out what to do (with a nursing baby in tow) on very little money.
So please, please leave me a comment with some ideas of things we can do. Our anniversary is on Monday, August 25th, and he has taken off work for that day and the Friday before in case we decide to go somewhere. The kids also start school on our anniversary.
I know you all have great ideas and are very creative so please help me out. Thanks!

Go to the Mona Lisa in Nampa.
Very romantic and great food. And who can't love a Fondue resturaunt?
And the nursing baby can be in tow.
Hopefully that will help to get the wheels turning!
Happy Anniversary! Our 10 year isn't until next year so we'll see what happens there!
Okay so very cheap suggestion: on Monday nights Carinos (formally Johnny Carinos) offers their family platters for the price of a single entree (think pasta, salad and bread for 4 adults for $12!!!). So there is that. Oh and I can get you a pretty cheap hotel room at the Residence Inn by Marriott because I still have a few connections (it would be in a suite with a full kitchen and living room for $45). Let me know.
Count your loses. Have a nice night in and watch your old wedding video. There will be plenty of years to go all out in anniversay celebrations. But for now with the little kiddies, simplify. That's what I do. Plus I'm too tired.
Okay, so these still require some expense, but they came to mind, so I thought I'd send:
Not sure if you're up for being in nature for your getaway, but I remember that I always thought it would be fun to stay at one of the Forest Service's "rustic cabins". They're pretty nice and inexpensive and supply you with enough that I wouldn't really call it "roughing it". Check out the link for cabins in the Boise area that range from $30 -$45 per day.

Or there are the Idaho Parks & Rec Yurts, but it'd be a question of reserving this close to the date you want to go:

Or there's the Thunder Mountain Line - riding the train from Horseshoe Bend to Banks and back OR Cascade to Smith's Ferry and back (ranging from $25/person and up for a 2.5 hr ride with dinner, mystery and Dutch Oven meal package options)

Johnny Carinos sounds yummy to me, too. I loved that place. None in the midwest. :)
Good Luck and enjoy!
Our 15 is this year...and I have no idea what we're doing either, darn debt paying...ugh.
How about 10 little things? You each have to find 10 small things (like at the dollar store) that say "I Love You because..." And then you take turns opening them.
Hey Ranell! I'm glad you stole my blog info. Your blog is soo cute! Ok so heres an idea:
-KEEP IT SIMPLE. Decorate your kitchen/dining area like a resteruant (christmas lights, balloons, cafe signs.) Make a favorite dinner or something yummy, dress the kids up like waiters and let them serve you a candle light dinner. Its amazing how much the kids get into it and have fun!
