We had the kids vote on Sunday night for the preliminary vote which narrowed it down to two "parties". Here was what the final ballot looked like.
President (Main Dish)
Sloppy Joe Biden
Obama Lasagna
Senator (Vegetable)
Rammell Salad
Loracco Corn
Congressman (Fruit)
Minnik Pears
Minnik Mix
Judges (Dessert)
Baracolate Milk
Oatmeal Palin (raisin) Cookies
And the final results were:
President - Obama Lasagna by a vote of 5 to 1.

(This is not a picture of my lasagna, but I wanted to have some picture in this post.)
Senator - Split Tie 3 to 3 Rammell Salad and Laracco Corn (so we had both)
Congressman - Minnik Pears by a vote of 5 to 1.
Judge - Split Tie 3 to 3 Baracolate Milk and Oatmeal Palin cookies (so we had both, though never really got to the chocolate milk part, we were all too full)
I had the kids vote right after school so I could get started on the winning meal. I called Seth earlier in the day to get his "absentee ballot".
This was a lot of fun. It has been a long time sice we have had a meal that NOT ONE person complained about. They LOVED the meal and most even had seconds. Maybe I should have them vote for meals every night. Then maybe they would eat their dinner and not complain about it.

Fun idea. I thought about doing this too, but I decided to wait until the next election when my girls can understand/appreciate it more
