Not Again! I hate this time of year!

No I don't mean the new President.  I'm talking about RSV.  Yep, we have it again at our house.  Every year someone at our house has that stupid virus.  Last year we had two kids with it.  Now we probably have 2-3 with it.  The older kids are not bad, just a little wheezy.  Ella on the other hand is really bad.

I took her in tonight to our after hours clinic that I wasn't too impressed with.  It was one of those get her in, quick check, and get her out.  The nurse checked her oxygen levels and they were staying between 86, 87, and 88.  Which is not good.  They usually admit to the hospital when the levels are below 90.  But after she was moving around a little more the Dr. read it again and they were at 94-95.  So we are home instead of the hospital.  Which I am glad about except that I feel she is really sick and needs to be on oxygen.  But the Dr said she didn't think she was in distress.  So when Ella can't take go a minute without grunting for breath and her chest is so sunk in she looks like an Ethiopian child, she coughs repeatedly to try to clear her lungs, and falls asleep at random for short naps, that tells me she is in distress.  If that's not distress, I'd hate to see what is.  Ella has double ear infections on top of the RSV so she did get put on an antibiotic.  Hopefully that will help her feel better.  It's no wonder I haven't gotten any sleep the past few nights.  Poor girl.

Hey do you have a nebulizer? Both times Sydney was hospitalized with RSV we tried the nebulizer and Albuterol and it seemed to help. Let me know because we have both and it would be worth a try if it helps them to breath. It's supposed to open their lungs so they can breath better. Let me know and I can let you borrow it...that is until my kids get sick again =)

"Do you have a nebulizer".......

That's like asking Noah if he has an ark.

Sorry, but it's true. :)

(And sorry about the RSV. I will pray some healing feelings come your way.)
