The Run Around Part 2

Now that you know and heard my quilting madness, it's time for the rest of the story.

The night I decided to not kill myself to get the quilts done that I had been working on all day long, was the night of the BSU Poinsettia Bowl game.  We don't have cable or dish so I asked my brother here in town if we could watch the game at their house.  When Seth got home I was not feeling very good.  But in the rush of getting the quilts done I had not eaten well that day.  I was a little cold while sewing so I had a large mug of hot chocolate and I didn't eat anything else.  I thought I was not feeling well because I needed to eat.  When my needle broke trying to finish Ella's stocking, I called my SIL to see if I could use her sewing machine while we watched the game so I could finish the stocking and maybe bind Porter's quilt too (the last one to bind).  She said sure so I gathered everything I needed to have to finish those.  Then it was off to the game.

When I got there, my brother was gone and we were waiting to eat dinner and watch the game until he got back (I love pausing live TV with the DVR, why again do we not have dish?).  By the time he got back I was cold (feverish) and felt like the contents of my stomach were sitting in the base of my throat.  I knew I better not try to eat anything.  Seth REALLY wanted to watch the game so I didn't say anything to anyone, just tried to ignore the sick feeling I had.

But needless to say it didn't work and pretty soon I was in the bathroom.  I won't go into details but I had the flu.  After a couple trips to the bathroom and feeling bad that I was now contaminating my brother's house and all their family, we went home.  The game was about half over and he found out later the final to the game and the disappointing ending.  I went straight to bed and didn't wake up until late the next day.  Thankfully while I was sick on the couch my SIL sewed the rest of Ella's stocking for me (Christmas Eve was the next night).  Thank you Keri!

Sadly every one of my brother's family got sick, including her parents and sister who were there for the holidays.  Porter also got it and Seth got it later.  I felt really bad.

Our Christmas and New Years was really good (pictures coming soon).  No one was sick Christmas Day.  We enjoyed having Seth home for two full weeks.  We spent a couple days at the Discovery center (thanks to Seth's sister) and played lots of Wii and games.

The 3rd of Jan. I started with a little sore throat that night before bed.  I woke up in the night feeling like a car had ran over me (fever again, aches, and couldn't even stand to swallow my own spit).  It being Sunday I didn't go to the doc-in-the-box so we waited until Monday.  Let the bacteria grow for another day.  Monday finally got some drugs and it took a good couple days to start feeling better after that.  Now I just have to remember to keep taking them so it won't come back.

Stake Volleyball has started again and this will be my 3rd year in charge of it all.  Every Sat. morning from now until the end of February you will find me at the stake center playing Volleyball.  It is so much fun.  Our ward this year has so many women that we have two full teams with about 12-14 signed up on each team.  The last two weeks we have had 12-14 there total.  It is a lot of fun.

That's the rest of the story, and why I have not even been on the computer let alone posting.  One thing's for sure, I hope I am done being sick for a very long time.

The next post will hopefully be Christmas Pictures! (No Shelly, I haven't forgotten).

You sound like you've been run through the ringer! I too hope you are done being sick for months.

It's just not Christmas without someone spreading the flu around.

How come I get called "sister" for the thing I did nice, and Shelly when you're pointing out what a nag I am?

Ah, well...as long as I get pictures...

It sounded like a rough pre-holiday. I feel bad that everyone got the flu, I think I can take anything over throwing-up. I'm glad that everyone is doing well enough now though.
I love your family pics. The ones of the kids are absolutely to die for, they each look so darn cute... and big!
